CAVEAT 1 - Under no circumstances is this posting meant to support or encourage any homeowner to intentionally default on his/her/their mortgage.

There is much too much risk/uncertainty and stress present during even "successful"  #FRAUDclosure litigation.

This posting merely highlights and challenges the hypothesis and notion/assumption that defaulting homeowners are "DEAD BEATS".

CAVEAT 2 - During the 12-year ordeal #HurtingHomeOwner retained an attorney for 3 months.  That was either her smartest, or her dumbest strategy.  

The jury is still out.

The focus is participation in a class action intended to directly benefit defrauded homeowners, and to deter fraud and misconduct on the part of predatory lenders:

#FRAUDclosure NEED NOT BECOME A
RITE OF PASSAGE ! ! !

There was a time when the court system
was generally very hostile to anyone who
dared to represent himself or herself. 
The recent years of pro-consumer
advocacy have borne fruit.  Courts do
not encourage Pro Se litigants, but if you
learn and follow the ground rules, judges
will tolerate a self-represented litigant, to
an extent.

1.  Take a crash course on your state's
court web site.  Learn it in and out.  Use
a search engine to locate the web site.

Also, a lot of valuable info is available on -

2.  If you are filing, or are served with a
Federal Complaint, you must learn the
Federal way of doing things.  A good
generic web site with lots of helpful links
is the NYND USDC -

http://www.nynd.uscourts.gov/forms/pro-se-handbook 

3.  Time is never your friend when you are
involved in litigation.  "Next week" is not a
good time to start to "look into things". 
95% of homeowners served with #FRAUDclosure
notices never even answer the Complaint. 
This an unacceptable response considering
the time, emotional, and financial stake you
have invested in your residence.  

There are people who will assist you, but you have to
reach out, and in time.  For starters, on any
search engine enter your state's name
followed by Pro Se.

The best time for action is the day after
yesterday and the day before tomorrow !
